‘Scarecrow Festival on Tamborine’

Family fun on Mount Tamborine!

The inaugural Scarecrow Festival on Tamborine Mountain in 2008 was a huge success.   Over 200 scarecrows lined the 14 km circular trail and added some extra sparkle to beautiful Tamborine Mountain. Visitors were treated to a host of activities, street entertainment, book readings from Aunty Lynn, VIP’s, and of course the stars of the weekend ‘ lots and lots of scarecrows in all kinds of disguises! Both visitors and scarecrow builders were sharing lots of prizes, which were presented by no other than Nikki Webster.

Of course shops, accommodation, cafes and other facilities joined in the fun and made this festival a weekend to remember and an ideal family outing. A visit to Mount Tamborine, in the lush Gold Coast Hinterland, is always rewarding, and now with the additional reason to say hello to all those interesting characters and maybe winning a great prize as well, there is no excuse to stay at home! Every year new and exiting scarecrows pop up on the Scarecrow Trail and new activities are on offer for the whole family. Come and visit us again on Mount Tamborine in 2012 for the fifth (even bigger and better!) Scarecrow festival.
