Mt Tamborine National Parks
Mt Tamborine has a variety of breathtakingly beautiful walking tracks in the National Parks surrounding the tourist attractions.
Both the Knoll section and Witches Falls section are close to Villa della Rosa and are equally beautiful in different ways, so take the time and walk them both!
Access to the Knoll section: In North Tamborine, turn off “main Western Road” into Main Street, continue past the shops and the residential area where it becomes “Knoll Road”, keep left when the road forks.
Sandy Creek / Cameron Falls Circuit (B3) 2.6 km return, allow 1 hour, easy grade
Take the time to go to the lookout, it offers spectacular views to Mount Flinders and Brisbane in the distance, as well as Cameron Falls to the right. This track has all up more than 200 stairs, but is still a relatively easy track.
The “Witches Falls National Park” was the FIRST National Park proclaimed in Queensland in 1908. Information signs erected at the start of the walk at “Main Western Road”, give a good insight into the history of the area as well as it’s flora and fauna.
Witches Falls Circuit (E2), 3.1 km, allow about 1 hour, moderate grade. Witches Chase track, 2.7 km return, moderate grade.
The Witches Chase track is close to Villa della Rosa and can be reached by entering from the other end. Part of this track is a boulder track, so please take care and wear suitable shoes.
Not far from Villa della Rosa B&B, at the end of Beacon Road, is an intimate, less frequented inland lookout that is ideally suited to enjoy a quiet sunset.
On hot summer days you might like to cool down in one of the local waterholes. Cedar Creek Falls is only about a 10 minute drive, plus a short walk down to the rock pools. Parking is limited, so plan ahead and go early. Alternatively you can of course go to the local swimming pool, which is only a 2 minute drive or 20 min walk.
For more info on all the tracks and printable maps, picnic spots, BBQ’s, waterfalls and lookouts please go to the Discover Tamborine website.
